TRANSITIONS OPTICAL EXPANDS STAR PROGRAM TO EYECARE PROFESSIONALS
Transitions STAR Specialist Program Provides Opportunity
for Eyecare Professional Recognition and Partnership
in Building a Healthy Practice
PINELLAS PARK, Fla., Jan. 25, 2004 – Transitions Optical, Inc. today launched the new Transitions STAR Specialist Program to recognize excelling optical locations and provide a range of business-building tools for qualifying eyecare professionals.
The Transitions STAR Specialist Program, with enrollment beginning on Feb. 1, expands the successful STAR Lab and Retail Programs to the eyecare professional level, providing special access to Transitions Optical’s best educational offerings and professional development tools through Transitions Platinum Elite STAR Labs.

“Taking the STAR Program to eyecare professionals was the natural next step in our mission to aid our partners in building healthy businesses,” said P.J. Downes, sales director labs/ECPs, Transitions. “Our STAR Labs actually requested a STAR Program for eyecare professionals because they recognize the benefit this type of program can provide in building strong partnerships.”
The program is open to customers of Transitions Platinum Elite STAR Labs who meet sales parameters and demonstrate a commitment to building a healthy practice with Transitions® Lenses and their lab.

Eyecare professionals who qualify for the STAR Specialist Program will gain Specialist status and will have priority within the Transitions patient referral system. They will be offered some complimentary pairs of Transitions Lenses for their staff, as well as a variety of professional development opportunities, including Transitions ABO continuing education courses and business-building tools.

How It Works

Once enrolled in the program by their Transitions Platinum Elite Lab, members will receive a congratulatory letter along with STAR Specialist membership kits for each optical location. Throughout the program, participants will be invited to special members-only events and gain access to a variety of exclusive professional development and business-building tools from Transitions. The program requires that practices continue to meet goals to re-qualify each January and June. At these times, Platinum Elite Labs are also able to enroll new accounts that have met qualifications for membership.

“We’re committed to supporting all of our partners, so that professionals in all areas of the industry can work together toward a healthy future,” Downes added.
