Big Smile Wearing Fur and Other Non PC Things

Having aknowledged I am a (multiple) gun owner and I believe I brought up consuming a fair amount of alcohol on my birthday I thought in the spirit of the season I'd share what other awful things I've done and purge myself. Please share your thoughts on political correctness and where you stand.

    • I own three fur coats and jackets. They are from ranch raised pelts.
    • I eat every kind of meat I can get my hands on including lamb and veal.
    • I wear lots, carry and drive sitting on leather.
    • When my kids were little I did swat their bottoms and smack their little hands regarding safety issues. Miraculously, they are almost normal as adults.

    How 'bout you???

    Well Laurie...

    1) I too own guns.
    2) I drive a 1 ton, four door pickup with a 454 gas guzzling engine.
    3) I ride motorcycles.
    4) I drink alcoholic beverages from time to time.
    5) I hunt and eat what I kill.
    6) I too am a carnivor and only eat vegetables to aid in the digestion of high protien foods such as beef, pork, chicken, fish, lamb, goat, veal, etc.
I'm not into furs yet but do wear leather products in the form of belts, boots, watchbands and vests.
I think they should bring back leaded gasoline. ars ran better and engines lasted longer with unleaded fuel.
I believe that the logging industry should be allowed to cut down trees in fire danger zones AND profit by it.
I believe that businesses and Corporations should also be allowed to profit by the work they do without governement interferance.
    Success should be rewarded
Self esteem is something one earns for ones self. It is not given to you by "feel gooder" mentality types.

I'm sure I left some things out but I figure others need to jump in as well. Maybe Pete will say something...? Maybe ;)

    Take care,

Darris "Kill it before you grill it." C.

    PETA

I must have been having a clairvoyant moment or something in anticipation of PETA's latest stunt as shown on the news tonight. Now for any anti-fur folk out there, I truly respect your right to take that stance. I ask that my right to feel different is respected. That said, PETA's "Happy Holiday" campaign this year is printing comic books for children to be handed out at malls, Nutcracker performances and so on in Metro areas throughout the country. The cover of it is a very graphic, gorry cartoon of a Mother using her kitchen knives to stab the guts out of a bunny. The caption is "ask your mommy had many animals she killed for her fur coat."
Once again I think they have gone over the top when if they would like parents to consider setting a good example to children regarding fur perhaps the more honey than vinegar approach might work better.

P.S. Darris, thanks for reminding me of one more thing I should feel guilty about. I too drive a gas guzzling vehicle.:shiner:

    being pc...

Even though I don't practice my faith (Christian), I am now wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, rather than the generic "happy holidays".

Too bad if I step on someone's toes. If you are Jewish, tell me about Chanukka. If you are Muslim, inform me on your practices. Just don't act insulted and expect me to conform to your ideals. Eveyone has their own beliefs, and I'm tired of being hushed when I want to express my true feelings. If you don't like what I say, walk away and don't bother me. Your only other alternative is to develop thicker skin.

As for PETA, if they don't like the fact that "Thumper" got his *** whooped to feed me and keep me warm, too damn bad. They need to get a life. I already have one.

If they don't care for "Bambi bustin", tell the front end of your car how sorry you are for ramming it into a running brick wall.

    Holiday Aggression????

Let's try to think lovely thoughts!!!

I do/have done lots of the things you mentioned. About the only major vice that passed me by is gambling.

I try to eat less meat for health reasons, Atkins nonwithstanding.

Motorcycles: I remember teasing my father that the only rule he had for his 3 daughters (mother had plenty to make up for him!) was he did not want them to ever ride on motorcycle. Well you know the rest of the story..all 3 of us!!

I am a member of the Sierra Club.

I don't wear fur (what p----- me off is now that I am at the stage of my life when I could afford that gorgeous full length fox, my conscience won't let me do it!!!)

I agree a little physical discipline with children is not just acceptable, but healthy. (I guess it's like guns, in the wrong hands can be very dangerous).

    holiday aggression?...

Nope...just being me. No apologies for what I say. Gut reactions are the most honest. If people can't handle it, oh well. Life goes on.

Yes, I also gamble. Just like anything else, you gotta spend money to make money.

I eat meat, gamble, own guns, AND smoke. I will be kind and not blow smoke in someone's face, but if you rant and rave about my smoking, or cough when you walk by me when I'm outside smoking, be ready for me to climb your butt. Opinions are fine, but noone lives my life but me. I'm taking back what's mine. I've given up too much just to please. Now I will be pleasing myself.

    OH MY BOBV!!!!!!!
How could I forget the most un-PC thing I do? I am a smoker as well. In the State of California, that makes me quite the pariah.

Thank you for making me come clean with that information.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    It really irks me...

when you can go to a baseball or football game, outside, get s**tfaced and vomit on someone, but you can't smoke because the person next to you may be offended.

It really irks me when a vegetarian tells you not to eat meat because it is unhealthy, yet they're the ones that look anorexic.

It really irks me when you can't smoke in a restaurant because the smoke will invade somebody's space, yet people still barbecue and put their faces over the grill to smell what's cooking. Can someone put a filter on that slab of ribs?

You can continue this if you like...

Why is it that people who frequent health food stores look so unhealthy?????

I think Edgar Friendly summed it all up in his speech to John Spartan in Demolition Man.

    smoking, drinking, eating meat

A good friend of mine has a great retort to people who preach to him about his unhealthy lifestyle: "I want to be sick when I die!"

I don't smoke but it doesn't bother me except in planes (still ok on Asian, S American airlines--really bad!). I would much rather sit next to a smoker in a restaurant than a loudmouth on a cell phone!

I love going a 100 mph on my Harleys and 120 in the Beamer.
I hope Golden Co. never runs out of the Silver Bullet.
I have several leather jackets, chaps, belts, boots, wallets and watch bands. I just wish my wife would wear the that leather halter, that's still in the box!
I bbq anything that moos or sqeals. I nice cigar and a good California Cabernet, while sitting in the spa caps of a nice evening for me!
Merry Christmas to all of you!

These PETA people are....unusual. But don't make the mistake of dismissing them, they have been very effective. They establish the out there point of view, and more reasonable, mainstream groups (Humane Society etc) benefit in pushing their more moderate agendas--every Dr King needs a Malcolm X.

If you've ever been to Scandanavia, their billboards and "green" publications make this stuff look mild. I saw one in Amsterdam once, a photo of a naked man with mangled genitals: "Chlorine did this to me". Yikes!!!
