TRANSITIONS OPTICAL ANNOUNCES MOST NOMINEES EVER FOR THE LAB OF THE YEAR AWARD

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 20, 2003 – Transitions Optical, Inc. has announced this year’s nominees for its annual Lab of the Year award and is highlighting them at the 2003 Optical Laboratories Association’s (OLA’s) exposition and conference held Nov. 20 – 22, 2003. The total number of nominees is the most ever for this highly sought industry award, growing 27 percent over the previous record-breaking year.

The Lab of the Year title has been awarded annually since 1991. It is presented to a Transitions STAR Lab at the Platinum Elite level that has made a significant commitment to growing its business with Transitions in the past year. Criteria include implementing creative marketing strategies; achieving solid growth in volume and Transitions® Lenses market share mix; dedication to educating its staff and customers; and showing an overall commitment to Transitions products and programs.

The winner of the 2003 Lab of the Year award will be announced and honored at Transitions Academy in Jan., 2004.
