    ABo Review

Hello I was wondering what approximately (if not exactly) is required to know in ABO that will be given NYC. IS all ABO written tests are the same from state to state?

Hello OdTech, since ABO is national I believe all states are given the same, however I'm sure there is a few different variations, so two people taking the test the same day may get a different test, even if sitting next to each other.

    ABO Exam

    HI,

Some time ago I heard that there is a pool of some 500 questions. Questions are randomly picked & different tests are administered at different locations, some of which are simultaineous.

Hello and Happy ThanxGiving Goggle Goggle Google Google

Well i know for sure that ABO questions computer randomly picked, i don't know how many questions are in the database but on the test its 100. I took the ABO and briefly as far i recollect.

Index of Refraction of Lenses and tools used in the Industry. Benefits and Disadvatanges of certain Lens Materials (poly, CR-39 etc..)
Where the optical Center, Height of Progressive, Trifocal, Bifocal.
Basic Optics Q: Defintions of:ED, A, DBL, and B mesurements also Monocular and Binocluar PDs.
Some Anatomy Questions like, diseases.(ex: Drooping of the Eyelid)
Splitting Prism (mostly are given with either: Progressive, Trifocal, Bifocal)
Convert Progressive Bifocal and Trifocal Rx into Reading Rx.
    Vertex Distance Questions.
Different eye defects: Presbyopia, myopia, astigmatism, etc..-Mostly are given with Rx
    Toric Transposition(base curve questions)

and laslty some Lifestyle Questions(ex: Pianist sees the piano when playing but not the music notes, he already comfortably wearing Bifocal, what Rx do you give? answers: Intermidiate Single vision, Near Single Vision, Distance Single vision and Raise the seg.

In conclusion the give away was on the test : They give picture of eyes and you have to measure Bifocal Hieght, Progressive, Trifocal and Binocular and Monocular PD. With the ruler that they give its has Cm and Inches but the answers are in mm. My suggestion bring mm ruler with you.

    Best regards
    Happy Thanx Giving:D
