Hey guys....just recently opened a shop and interested in managing software. I'm the only employee so far and stock around 500 frames. Any idea on inventory control, point of sale, and recall software out there that would take care of my shop and keep it under control with costs and such. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Thumbs up

the Luxottica software is really nice and very affordable. EZFrames is the name and I reccommend it to all businesses big and small. (I am not affilliated with Luxottica, i do not even carry their frames outside of Armani, but i do like the program.)

Our computer system is by Websware (www.websware.net). The system includes inventory control, patient recall, accounting, insurance/3rd party and other features. We have been using Websware for over 10 years and are still happy with the program.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Eyeguy,
We've been using Optimeyes for 10 years - its great. It does inventory, patient records, 3rd party billing, orders, appointments, and e-mail messaging. The best thing for you though, it can be a stand alone installation and as you get larger it can expand to a multiuser (client - server) architecture. Check out their web site www.optimeyes-mba.com

The Filopto system will address the software needs you metioned as well as many more. Check out www.filopto.com for windows based practice management software at a very affordable price for single or multiple user systems.

    Hope this helps

There are so many PM systems out there - it is hard to offer a solution that would be best for you - with out knowing more about your needs.

In the end - the best PM system may not be the best PM system. It may be the best PM system your staff can understand and use on a daily basis. (Or if you have office turn over issues - the best system a new staff member can understand and use.)

Here is a link to a PDF which does a good job discussing some of the various PM systems.
