Smilie Prepare For World Sight Day

    Hello All,
World Sight Day is an annual event, held on the second Thursday of October. This year it falls on Thursday, October 9th. It's a global event dedicated to raising awareness about sight preservation and blindness prevention in diverse areas of world. It was first initiated by the International Association of Lions Clubs.
Optiboard members, please do not forget to join in to commemorate this day by sponsoring any sight related local activity like vision screening in schools, glaucoma screening, diabetic screening, collecting eyeglasses for recycling program, public education by way of posters, pamphlets, news releases etc. And we shall be happy to hear from you of an activity carried out by you on this day.
    Regards,
    Optom

    Shabbir,

As usual, you are looking after the welfare of your fellow man...Thanks for reminding all of us that we need to participate in this very worthy cause.

Hello Neena,Actually, you can do any community activity related to sight for World Sight Day. In office you can perform simple macula screening for every elder customer that comes in with amsler grid or you can put up health awareness posters exhibition in the corner of your dispensary on diabetes & eye, glaucoma, signs of retinalblastoma- a form of neural cancer in child often deadly and so forth…

And this would also count towards your CE cycle.

We can have better suggestions from OB!

    Best regards,

    Optom
