    VSP Varilux X and XR

Is it me,, Should there be a $10 custom measurement copay with the X and XR design now. I know its with the X fit but the product index has it on the X design even though it requires no additional measurements. Am I missing something or have I been wrong all theses years.

    Thanks in advance

It requires no additional measurements, but you may supply them on the Design (notice the input fields will be available on Eyefinity). I think then the only difference between Design and Fit if your supply fit values is variable corridor or not (because I'm pretty sure the S/X/XR Designs are all fixed corridor). I'm not 100% on this, haven't chased down an EOB to confirm, but VSP will levy the custom measurements fee regardless of whether or not you input anything.

Update: I just submitted an XR Design on VSP and the "V2702 - Deluxe lens feature" line item is only appears in the calculations IF you input values in the custom measurements fields. If you leave them blank it will not come up as a line item.

Essilor says that Its our discretion as to weather or not we charge it. I don't think either party knows what to do with VSP right now.

from my understanding at my office, our lab will default to the "optimal" measurements if we leave those boxes blank, however the pt can opt in for the custom measurements for an extra $20
