requirements for North Carolina

I've been considering a move to North Carolina and wondered how difficult would it be to get a license by waiver currently? I've been practicing in the field for 51 years and licensed in Arizona since 1982 and I currently still work as a licensed dispenser as well as the Az State Board of Dispensing Opticians board investigator.
Is it necessary to have a license to work as a dispensing optician or can you work under another license?
Az only requires 1 license per store.
I see they need $300 for an application, but I hate to waste the money to just find out they would require new testing or apprenticeship..

If you meet the qualifications, you may be successful. Review the requirements on the State Board site. They usually require some time with another. It is likely the most stringent in the nation, but others have done fine. Happy to help if I can.

I do highly recommend becoming licensed in NC. You can work under another license in an office, but currently there aren't enough LDOs so it's driving up the pay, and with all of your experience, you deserve as much as possible! The protocols change periodically, but I spoke with someone recently with 20 years exp as an LDO in another state and she had to apprentice for 6 months before getting licensed in NC.
