    Question Glassblower glasses

    Can you help?

Today I had a young artist inquire about lenses that should be used for while blowing glass.( making bowls glasses, vases etc)
    What material,tint,coating,thickness would be best?
Some real world advise, and past experience would help. Not just opinions.
    Thanks,.

Who you going to call *opti-board* thats who.

What you are looking for is called Didymium glass. I did some research for you and it is available from X-cel. They call it Rose Didymium. I would be prepared to wait a while for an Rx since I doubt that this an on the shelf item.

There is glass blowing which involves a kiln which requires viewing the "glory hole" (don't misread this in spite of the heat ;) )

Then there is the glass forming using a torch and soft glass, then there is glass forming using pyrex. All require a different lens.

Need to be specific. Try: http://www.auralens.com
