Patient broke the top barrel on temple and frame is not replaceable. Of course, it is his favorite of many pairs... I bolted it back together but the temple is very floppy....any suggestions on how to make it feel more secure?

Is the top barrel split or gone?
If missing it is only a matter of time until the bottom barrel breaks.
it is gone.
CONGRATULATIONS UNCLE FESTER ON YOUR 5000th POST !!
Why not just replace the hinge? You may need to use visible rivets the old-fashioned way, but you can adapt (machine and drill) a hinge from a junk frame to match and
hammer it into place. Or is it a metal frame? Solder, not hammer.
5000 is a very admirable feat - congratulations Uncle Fester.

It is a titanium frame, so that is a no-go......
If the patient is refusing to buy a new frame or restyle, there's always shrink tubing! That's come in handy for me. I don't have the skills or the equipment (or time) to solder or machine new parts.
