Computer Dispensing Aids

New to the OptiBoard, so forgive me if this topic has been discussed. Several of the wholesale labs I work with are signing on to sell systems such as the Smart Mirror, Eye Point System, Optichart System etc... all that have unique presentation designs and features.

Is anyone out there using one of these systems (or one I didn't mention) and if so do you find that your patients see the benefits of AR, High Index, Transitions etc... when presented in this manner? Does this make the presentation of add-ons quicker? Do they like that they can see themselves with different frames?

Pros and Cons?

Just wondering . . .

Welcome to Optiboard. Don't worry about redundant questions. We all ask them. It's bound to happen. Besides, sometimes our opinions change by the time the questions get asked again.

I had a system like you mention, but the kids in the office got a hold of it and broke it beyond repair. That was 8 years ago.
I'm ready to start looking for a new one.

Vickie, yes, welcome to Optiboard; our shop just is in the process of starting to use "Eyeweb", patients are quite impressed; I saw it in a more prototype system in Portugal at the Presbyopia forum in 2000, but they were'nt available in the US until now, it does demonstrate transitions, measures monocular pd's and seg height, lets pts see frames, uses digital still and video cameras, will take a 20 second video t be replayed. sort of whiz bang , 21st century; pts definitely know we're at the cutting edge of the industry...
