    A/R Coating Equipment

Is there anything new as far as A/R coating equipment? All the equipment I am familiar with is big and expensive .
With all the lense materials available small and affordable, for smaller labs, may be impossible.
I do remember reading about someone attempting to place A/R "in" semi-finished blanks.

There is one small Ar coater made in the UK and another one in France. In Korea they build them them too. Vaccuum coating machines are used today for all sort of things, from electronics to whatever. Search the net and you will find them, but still not cheap.

    Revolutionary Spin-on AR Coating System

Chemat Technology Inc., in Northridge, CA is now selling its spin-on Chemalux (TM) 150A system, which is specifically designed to allow the smaller lab and retail superstores to do quality AR coating in-house. Based on patented technology, the 150A allows you to AR coat approximately 20 pair per eight hour shift. The wide-band AR coatings are available in the traditional green residual color, or in blue or purple, plus a flash mirror gold color. The hybrid nanocomposite AR solutions produce a tough, flexible AR coating which chemically bonds to hard coated lenses. For more information, see the May 12 issue of Vision Monday.
