Question High Plus in Shooting Glasses

I have a customer with rx as follows:

    +6.00/-4.50/x25
    +7.25/-4.50/x161

He has a Decot Hy-Wyd shooting frame and wants the thinnest lenses possible. Tried poly but was too distorted. Any recommendations?

I had a similar Rx for a patient and the Spectralite came out really well with minimal distortion.

I'm with John R on this one. I've fit high plus Rx's with Trilogy Aspheric and they come out pretty nice looking. I just don't know what the blank sizes are for the aspherics - I believe Decot Hy-Wyd shooting frames are 60+ eyesizes.

At our lab we use 1.56 aspheric Kodak blanks. Optics are very good and blanks are thick enough to handle most frames.

Regardless of which material you use, remember that a shooter does not look through the center of the lens, he looks through the top. In this rx be sure to move the oc where he is looking through the lens.
