Heard a funny one at work today one of the elder gentleman(85 years old)at work said he once made a pair of glasses for a horse,he said they were spheres and they had to stitch the lenses into a canvas headgear for the horse to wear.I asked if he fitted the horse(laughing hysterically)and what it was used for and he thought it might have been so the horse would'nt bump the guardrail at the track. p.s now that would be the biggest p.d. dave

Many, many years ago, we use to fit contact lenses on dogs with eye injuries. So anything is possible.

I had a guy call and leave a message in the middle of the night, asking how he could use an edger to cut a very small lens for use on a rooster. Seems he wanted poly, as when it was fighting, the other bird would go for the eyes.

This is really nothing new... I have seen contact lenses fit for race horses and good hunting dogs as well. Kind of a pain in the butt to take them out once a week for cleaning though.

If I am not mistaken, clip on glasses are commonly used on chickens in broodhouses to keep them from fighing and peckins each other. Also red tinted ones are also used on laying hens to make them think it is sunrise/sunset (when they lay eggs) all the time.
