I do mind .........................
The deleted question was why Amazon was not entering the optical online retail market.
The simple answer is that they are smart enough to realize that to compete against a world wide
giant is a crazy task.
Chris, my question is, why has Amazon not partnered with a giant? I can Clearly(.com) understand that a Global(.com) reach with the retailing of eyeglasses could go Coastal(com) and beyond. It makes my legs go Warbly(.com) Ok I, added a L. lol. Amazon didn't make the blue tooth headphones I just purchased. They are just a platform for other smart retailers. They may provide Frames Direct(.com) or Discount Glasses (.com) to all their faithful customers. Global(online)Eyeglasses (.com) could flood the world. Too much to think about and my pasta is ready. Tonight I didn't have Spigatinni, fettucini or angel hair pasta. Tonight I made Zenni pasta. lol.
Interesting times indeed.

I would have served some EssiLux salad along with it, made with a homemade vinaigrette containing lots of onions a garlic.
Amazon is too big and smart, to get into a commercial field like eyeglasses, that is still in the developing stage, while continuously showing non stop grows.
They are waiting how the other giant will be shaping the optical retail trade
into a totally new way, after the merger is done at the end of this year.
You can already see some signs with the LensCrafters closing their in house labs for centralization of their service to a few on and off continental labs.
This will heavily reduce cost of finishing glasses on site, in all of their 5,000 stores. Lots of less machinery to keep up, purchase of supplies, and salaries to pay.
LensCrafters will be very probably become the official service centers for their combined online opticals, of which there are over 20 so far world wide.
My guess is that Amazon will wait to see the coming developments in this field, before making any big move. There are still plenty of already fully functioning online opticals up for grabs when the time comes.
You're probably right. Never thought about that. Yikes!
In the meantime British Columbia has been deregulated and so is Quebec very silently. The forces are now concentrated on doing the same in Ontario, and when done, the most popular areas in Canada will become open territory for anybody to become rich by selling eyeglasses, anyway they want, finished or not.
It seems that all the older opticians that want to retire, are selling to the New Look chain.
The worldwide population is getting used to depend on computers by their continuous use of their cell phones, while the older generation that never touched computers, is dying off fast.
Half of the international optical suppliers websites of 10 years ago, have stopped to exist and are dead. I am taking count of it.
( see result at: http://optochemicals.com/web_listing.htm)
Time to start thinking.
It seems that all the older opticians that want to retire, are selling to the New Look chain.
And why wouldn't the older opticians sell to New Look? Seems like they have a winning formula for success.
Or am I missing something? What's everyone's opinion of New Look?
Regards,
Golfnorth
Of course they have the have the fullest winning formula there can be.
