I've been checking out different online stores and I noticed they are not asking for the optical center measurement (and how could they if the person doesn't have the frames on their face anyway) and I was wondering, are they using a formula to make an educated guess about it? If so, how are they calculating this when making progressives or bifocals? I understand some people think its not very important for people just ordering single vision, but how are they making accurate lenses for customers that need stronger lenses without the optical center measurements? Is there a formula to calculate approximate OC height using frame measurements?
