Shamir and their designer lenses and their marketing.

Does anyone else think that Shamir is getting a little too cute?

    "Fashion" vs. "Sport".
Some of their marketing that wants you to decide whether your sunglass patients want to sip coffee outside with friends?
All the silly brand naming of features?

Can we act like professionals and not bearded millenials buying our own lenses online?

    I'm perturbed.

Sadly, Shamir is not alone in this.

If you haven't seen what the engravings on these lenses look like yet, prepare yourself to be more perturbed. It's nonsense.

The beard is a statement of knowing. The perfectly combed and parted hair is a statement of Jack Sch***.

When presented in unison, they are telling you everything you need to know about them.

Would you prefer it be called the Auto 3 4 or 6 base and the Auto 3 8 base lens design? Seems to me Fashion and Sport keeps it simple yet with meaning.

Also, I could do without the coat hanger engraving, no doubt.

    And yes, I'm bearded.

Sport is a pure variable corridor that stretches allllllllll the way to the bottom. Fashion is variable corridor for bugeye oversized frames that "imagines" a smaller frame in front of the patients face.

My Shamir rep never gets back to me because I won't go all in, but thats what I interpreted from their descriptions and it hasn't failed me.

They may look ridiculous, but they are easy to identify
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

What's wrong with engravings that make lenses instantly recognisable?
Opticians can be so stupidly awkward about new things.
