Ray Ban Prescription Lab Officially Open

    http://www.ray-ban.com/usa/prescription-sunglasses/clp

As of 6/5/2017 the lab in Georgia USA is up and running. This means people can have an Rx that say 'Ray Ban' on the lens! Ooh la la!

By Rx, they mean suns and opthalmic. The suns are all poly with BSAR whether they are polar or not, mirror or not. Clear comes in CR39, poly, and a variety of hi-index all with AR.

And all with that sweet, sweet logo.

I won't fight it. We DO get people who want the logo on Rx and now I can cater to that- for $$$.

This also means I can keep my stock. Just like Maui's, all orders are complete meaning the frame stays in the store. I'll enjoy that convenience as well.

The way I figure it- Ray Ban is coming up with a package deal to ensure certain upgrade while flaunting their glorious name. There are pros and cons from an independent perspective.

    Thoughts? Comments? OUTRAGE?!!
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

In 1955 the then president of the German opticians association, opened a second office on a second floor in a commercial building in Kiel, the most destroyed, and newly rebuilt German town.

This was against the rules, which defined that opticians should be on the ground floor. The manufacturers of supplies, all agreed not to serve anybody above the ground floors because they could be price cutters.

So, Zeiss, the number one lens maker, refused to sell him their prime lenses.

He was proud to ask every one of his customers, *would you like a Zeiss lens or something better *. He also repeated this story at every professional meeting until Zeiss gave in and served also his second floor office.

Had access to essentially the same thing in a Lux setting. Added a Benjamin for the honor and prestige of an average lens with a logo, and very few people took me up on it. Took care of itself. I do the same thing with Varilux: the money separates the truly brainwashed from the reasonable chaff.

There are blogs online about how to remove the Rayban logo from your glasses also (apparently hot water, dawn and a penny gently scratching the white off lol). Different strokes for different folks. I'll probably get an account for the few people that ask if it can be done.

Its like anything in this business some people don't care, and others do. If they want it we can offer it and pay extra.
