Axis Question...

OK, I'm checking in a ST28 and have a question... Here is the power: -0.25-2.00x045 +2.50 add

The lens checks good from the front in the distance, but .25 strong in the add. If i turn the lens around to read from the back both the distance and the add read 90 degrees off axis.

The wholesale lab we buy from is telling me this is normal, but I don't remember this ever being the case. I'm I just being stupid here?

Usually I never read from the backside, but I was showing a new employee how it would make the add read more true.

Also, for what it's worth...the OS lens reads the same from the front or back.

Draw a liner on a piece of paper at 45 degrees. Hold the paper up to a light source and flip the paper over. What axis is showing up on that side?

TY...I'm a DA...lol Got it. It didn't matter on the OS because the axis is 85(just harder to see)
