Are there brands/manufacturers for which the depth of the groove in the frame is standard for frames they produce?
Or, across material within the brand (ie, all acetate frames by that brand have depth of .75mm...)?

There are definitely frames that deviate from the standard groove depth and width...mostly depends on the type of frame as opposed to who the manufacturer is. Also i would say standard depth is more around .4 to .5. Metal groove frames can be as deep as .7 to .8 and some if the adidas sport sunglass rx inserts run deeper as well. Downside is deeper the groove the more the edge is prominent.
"Mostly depends on the type of frame" - my impression as well!
"Also i would say standard depth is more around .4 to .5" - In your experience, is this the most common groove depth across frame types? (Or were you referring to acetate specifically?)
"Metal groove frames can be as deep as .7 to .8" - Are you saying that is the typical range for metal, or are you specifying the high end of the range?
Thanks for clarifying!
Yes, .4 / .5 is the most common depth in my experience
Metal grooves for the ones I've worked with usually want the .7/.8 depth....with that being said i have used a .6 depth to make the edge less apparent.
