Eyeglass Program Coordinator
Under the direction of the Corrections Education Director, the Eyeglass Program Coordinator will assume the coordination of this long-standing and successful work-based education program at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility. There are three main duties involved in this position.
1. Teach and train a diverse group of students in opticianry and para-optometric principles in preparation for the paraoptometric certification exam (CPO) and the Certified Paraoptometric Assistant exam (CPOA).
2. Train students and supervise the Coffee Creek eyeglass finishing lab that fills prescriptions and provides eyeglasses for DOC facilities statewide.
3. Direct student and other inmate workers in the sorting, sanitizing, repair and calibration of recycled eye ware in partnership the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.
