Hi y'all,
When my shop opened in September, I was given a large number of stale frames from other offices in my organization. Patients have generally not been interested in these frames due to their generally high price point, even though they are attractive and mostly fall in with current trends. Putting these frames on clearance--and advertising the clearance--hasn't generated any sales.
My organization is selective of vendors based on their willingness to discount; I'm trying to think outside the box and hopefully introduce some fresh, inexpensive looks among the name brands and moderately priced run-of-the-mill frames already on my boards.
Are any of you aware of frame vendors who accept buyouts? One of my reps has already agreed to do a buyout, but I know she won't want to take everything I'd like to get rid of. I've also asked a few other vendors, to no avail (Safilo, Tura, Marchon, McGee) and am starting to get nervous that my shop will end up going the (drab, boring) way of the optical company that previously existed at my office location.
As an aside, I know there are other ways to get rid of frames that have been around a little too long, but I don't have the latitude in my org to put on a sale or do any marketing outside of my building.
