    LC merges with Essilor
    LC closes labs.
    LC goes online.

Hmmm... might be a good time to start offering in-house, same-day services right?

Here is a nice review on just how easy that is these days.

When LC goes to two day service, you better believe that anyone who can offer same day will see an appropriate increase in those patients who want same day. Thats why its so crazy that LC is moving in that direction, because its the core of their patient base. If you take those patients away, the ship sinks way faster than it has been sinking...

And with what LC charges, even a 3 day TAT will be good, especially with AR on FF. This Essilux move just might be good for independent labs after all.

LC is closing their labs? 5+ years ago worked at a LC just down the street. Seems foolish on their part, but if they stop offering same day service it could be very good for us...

I doubt any optician out there will argue that this concept belongs in any Top-10 list of important things to know to be a competent optician.

Everyone should be watching your videos. Even if they are familiar/experienced with the concepts - they help me use terms to better explain them to customers, patients and most importantly - staff! Sometimes my own words get jumbled into the frightening way my own brain operates - you have a great way of explaining and teaching.

John, great vid. Impressive Seeger's Rule with impressive music selection.

Speaking of selection, and size matters, Seeger's rule seems to say that selection matters.

Can you suggest some appropriate mens and womens frame examples for the larger men or women that have a very high Rx? Assuming we are looking to minimize decentration, avoid harsh corners, and keep blank size small. Also in some cases with temple extension design so the frame can physically fit the larger patient.

Suggestions by others are all welcome.

Thanks to all for your good input.

JSD, I was hoping that someone else might chime in here. I don't work retail anymore so any suggestions I have are a bit dated. FWIW I always felt that Charmant had some excellent choices in frames that worked well with higher Rx's yet fit larger folks. Their CFX line in particular.

    John,

Thank you for the response. I appreciate your valued input. I would love to open it up to others that may have some preferred frames for these special Rx's. I feel it fits in perfectly with your video: How Frame Selection Affects Lens Thickness...

JSD: I tossed your question up on a big optician FB page but all got back was, Modern Optical XXL series as a reply.
    Sorry...
