    Gucci is back!

Sooo we got to put our first order in for new Gucci today!

Very intrigued by the new line. It's bold. It's colorful. It's fun. Some of it screams 80's and some of it is very fashion forward. There are some that come in optyl which was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, I'm still waiting to see how the quality holds up in comparison.

From what I've seen and put on my face today- I say "Welcome back!"
Have I told you today how much I hate poly?

How long were you quoted for delivery? We ordered about three weeks ago and were told to expect product in about 45 days.

We were told they should ship in a month. I'm pretty sure she said April 15th.

I would think quality would stay the same since I believe they are still using safilo to manufacture for the next few years.

The problem is with safilo, everything is taking 2 months+ at the moment. I'm not that bothered but the reps are distressed about it

They changed their whole warehouse infrastructure to be robotised, it's been a bit of a failure so far. Shouldn't have got rid of the human beings...

Isn't Optyl exclusive to Safilo? And the delay at Safilo is getting worse.

I'm interested to know the quality since I thought the Optyl frames were not going to be available since it is Safilo. If Safilo is still doing the manufacturing, and they can't seem to keep up with their own stock, then it could take forever to get them in. Hmmmm

The quality is great, there is plenty of optyl choices. We have sold more mens than womens ( I never thought so)! The Japanese titantium stuff is amazing quality, very very pricey though.

Other than the japanese titanium stuff it is all made in a Safilo workshop in Italy (the one that does there other luxury frames... and the double bar Zyl elastas lol)

Dealing with Kerring really comes down to your rep because I think they are a little overwhelmed, but I have a good feeling about the future with them. I had a great experience at the buy in down in DC, terrible experience with our rep, then our rep changed and its been great again.

Done really well with Kerring's puma and not as well with the Yves Saint Laurent. Gucci has been a big hit though, gotta say I was a little nervous about it after the investment!

I seem to recall the same delays occurring for the same reasons with Lux a few years back.....

There has to be more to Safilo's backorder delays than warehouse infrastructure. Its almost exclusively the stuff made on their top workshops/factories in Italy. Their brands made in china are almost always available

I signed up for them in the initial Gucci offering last year. I received that order mid-January. Each shipment takes about 3 weeks to arrive, even if it's 1 back-order frame.
You may want to double check your order has been processed.
I also ordered the St. Laurent from Kering and I had a few hiccups until the order went through. My Gucci order came in as planned.
I am happy with the quality and style of both of these lines.

You can PM or post in the private Forum but what is your Cost on the Gucci frames and Buy in required?

Finally got most of my Gucci order. They look really good. Nice to see them not coming in propellered like a lot of the other Kering stuff does.

Got about a third of our order in on Friday- that's 3 weeks and we ordered enough that what we got is plenty to start us off. Very happy with merch so far!

check it out! it's a spectacular combo of shine and fuzz.

...but mostly fuzz. also not thrilled about the nasty yellow they chose, but hey, that's why I'm not in High Fashion
