I love this video.
Anyone who thinks glasses from the 50s were boring has never seen some of the UK and France's output. They absolutely put American spectacles of the era to shame. I do wish that Amor, Algha, etc. had caught on over here so there'd be a wider variety of repros available today. http://www.kingscrosseyes.com/produc.../1950s/page/3/
Back in the fifties and sixties we were selling most of the frames shown in the web site that you cited however styles in the US market changed.
I don’t think it is boring. I love it and I recommend it to my friends and relatives. But I don’t think it suits everyone. A friend of mine who had his vision checked from an eye care center was asked to use the lens of -7 and -9. The power is quite high. He had myopia since his childhood. He doesn’t like wearing glasses as he thinks that it is not cool. But I recommended him the glasses like the one shown in this video. You know what, it was stunning. I guess it can be used by people with high power. The thickness of the glass won’t be very evident if you use such frames.
Vintage eyeglasses are evergreen glasses. Especially cateye frames are quite popular and loved by fashionistas. Many celebrities love to wear vintage glasses as their fashion style. 50's glasses, yeah some them are not feasible to wear now a days. Now girls wear glasses which looks good on them stylish, which accentuate their feature. So I think 50's glasses are not boring, it's just the choice of glasses and sunglasses of this generation has changed.
Nice video.
I think these vintage glasses are awesome to wear.
