    1.67 vs Trivex

    Hi,

I just got a new pair of glasses made using 1.67 plastic from a new retailer in my area. For the past decade I've been wearing EV 4.0 (cough, cough Trivex).

Glancing down seems to get pretty distorted with 1.67. I'm guessing this is the chromatic aberration due to the low Abbe of 1.67? Is Trivex really that much better?

I'm still learning but I've never quite seen Trivex recommended for people with strong myopia. I'm -7.00/-6.50 and I don't consider my old lenses that thick (which are supposedly Trivex).

Is -7.0 with Trivex pretty thick compared to 1.67 plastic?

    Thanks.
