Hoping for some clarification. My Essilor rep says the Varilux Physio Enhanced is not compensated. Yet when I've gotten jobs back from our lab, they are compensated. Can anyone settle this dispute?

I think this is right!
The Enhanced is a molded semi finished blank with the add already on the front using a CNC machine to surface the sphere and cyl powers on the back. While the back surface may get more detailed it still is not a true Free Form as it lacks position of wear compensation. The mold (that created the add) for the semi finished blank is made with Free Form technology hence the marketing gets muddled.

If there's a compensated Rx enclosed with the job (for proper verification), then there has to be optimization of the Rx at the distance and near reference points, with or without full Rx optimization over the entire lens, with or without any design optimizations. The compensated Rx likely uses default position of wear values, but if your client requires custom measured values, order the enhanced 'Fit'.
