magnified around the edges

I have a patient

OD -0.75-1.50X10
OS -0.75-1.50X175
PD 62
in CR-39, Polar Gray C
in a Ray Ban, RB4214, 59/17/145

His complaint is that when he looks around the edges everything looks magnified and that after 15 minutes wearing them everything settles and becomes clear. I'm thinking its the aberrations from the polarized lens that are messing with him. I'm not sure what it could possibly be.

Weird. Could it be the frame size? Too big? How long has he been trying to wear them?

Sounds like this is probably on a much steeper base curve (and probably spherical) and his normal dress pair is a flat aspheric version. He is probably just having difficulty expressing the distortion and is calling it "magnified".

I actually just cut that lenses for that frame for my dad and it was a 6 base if I remember correctly.
