    Removing and Reapplying AR Coating

Have some old but cherished and very valuable glass optics, whose antireflective coating has been damaged.

I would like to remove the existing coating, and reapplying new AR coating. There must be some business somewhere that can do that.

    Any pointers?

    Much appreciated.

Blue Jumper On CR39 it is no problem and takes about 10 seconds. ..........................

On lenses in glass the only way to remove the AR coating is by surfacing.

On CR39 it is no problem and takes about 10 seconds.
Dip into stripper solution and wait that time. Can be done in office while customer waits.

On polycarbonate lenses it can not be done as lenses will turn white opaque.

As more and more AR coatings are being sold on plastic lenses, the more of them will fail along the way. Our AR stripper contains only 12.5% of acids in a solvent mix and is the least dangerous such product on the market , but will remove an AR coating in seconds.
