    Need help with rudy replacement

    Hey folks,

Was wondering what offices are doing for sports eyewear.

We currently carry Maui and Rudy Project (so unique I know) and while the Rudy product is fine enough, I am on my last nerve with their lab. A minimum of 3 weeks to get even SV jobs back in and half the time we don't receive the lens features ordered (and on the invoice for that matter!) Speaking to people there to fix problems seems like a huge ordeal and I get the impression its near absolute chaos in the office. On top of that, in the +3 years I've been in this office we have never even seen our Rep. So..

That said, what are options to replace Rudy with. Does Costa have the same effect with patients West of the Mississippi? I know they have quite the following on the East Coast.

    Would appreciate any input.

Our location carries Maui, Oakley, Wiley X, and Leader. Our Oakley rep is the most interactive, actually showing the new product. Our Maui rep tends to just make the 'calls' for us in regards to what may need to be swapped or reordered. Wiley X and Leader we order online or through the catalogs. Personally, I love the Wiley X line. They have a growing selection of women friendly styles and options for extended RX ranges. Their prices are extremely reasonable too. As for service? They do just fine, but we do most of our own lab work in house. I can say- they are much easier to work with than the Oakley designs. Oakley's step bevel will be the cause of my tech's arthritis!

Thanks for the reply. Wiley-X has been on my radar for some time... especially now with the Kids line they have brought out. (Maybe kill two birds with one stone, Rudy & Liberty)

The Wilex X Youth Force is a Liberty killer. Best sports frames I've ever seen.

Maui Jim is the best quality, I believe but any licensed lenses might take a bit longer. We do Oakley quite a bit as well.

Another advantage to Wiley X: much lower buy-in than MJ or Oakley.
