    I'm having an existential crisis.

Every frame my reps bring me looks either:
    a. wearable, but the same as every other style I see in all the other lines, or...
    b. very novel, but unwearable.

I need some optical Viagra. Maybe I should go to an expo or something. For those of you that aren't chained to your desk and went to Sin City or the Big Apple: are styles especially homogenous right now? How many ways can chunky plastic be done?

As to the creative variety I've seen, not many can wear bright colors and edgy shapes, but they look nice in the tray and on the board.

One more rant-ette: Does it seem like the big guys have gobbled just about everything? Smaller frame vendors are looking like they've dragged a magnet through China and brought back just hideous stuff. How many frames are made per year over there? A billion? And how many look nice? 5%?

I feel like we're in frame doldrums around here.

Fear not, in an ocean of white homogenization you can sail a sea of chocolate, strawberry, and even Scotch and milk. If you don't travel to the various expo's you can view a plethora of some of the coolest product through, Luxury Eyewear Forum.

I have to say, I've been working in optical viagra land, and I just wish there was a little less blue pill, and a little more high blood pressure and diabetes here to tone it down. Like please, can I just have a frame that I can adjust the panto on please? I never thought I would say, but can I get a little more clear vision adam in my life?

I remember times when we had 8 Frames for men and 16 for women. Each in 3 to 4 colors and all possible lens and bridge sizes.

The material was so good that we made all sorts of different shapes and multiplied the assortment that way.

Thes days I know of some optical retailers that buy frames in clear acetate in a few different shapes and tint them according to customers taste and wish.

The Rx you need is indeed a trip to NY or Vegas for vision expo. great frame presentations, and nothing is quite like being able to touch and feel the frames. You won't need viagra for that. For an even better stimulation, visit Mido in Milan or Silmo in Paris. Great shows. Great cities.

I'm headed to Vegas this year, probably Silmo next year. I always take my wife as my arm candy, but yes, I think my passport has expired and I see my post office no longer issues them. Better start planning ahead!
