    Tools

    I'm doing some research and getting ourselves some new optician tools. I'm just curious to see what brands you guys trust.

    Western Optical... not the cheapest, but pretty damned good. Also, some innovative products for unique situations.

    Damascus made in Germany like the pic below. They'll last two lifetimes. Sometimes they show up on used sites like ebay. Hilco has Sadler which is still made in Germany. Don't buy cheap...they'll only last five years, if your lucky.

    Somewhere in my distant past I acquired a pair of Damascus snipe nosed pliers and I still use them every day. They are absolutely the best.

    You can usually determine the quality of a craftsman by the tools he uses. Always buy and use the best tools available.
