I would have went but the timing of my wife's due date was too close to the dates of this year's expo. Also my boss decided against sending us this year. Will likely go next year if given the chance

The floor seems to be very busy. Anytime I go into a booth to talk to anybody, the staff are all busy.

Wave LenSync had an amazing show; could not have gone better!

We had meetings starting on Thursday morning and never stopped until we got on the bus to the airport on Sunday. The industry response was 100% behind our project and we met with some rather large and significant industry leaders who see the opportunity for an open-platform that can transform the industry.

Version 1.0 was shown at the show and the opportunity is now there for those who want to take advantage of what the independent labs and other vendors can offer when provided with a fighting chance to get to market. The platform allowed me to learn of many new offerings and technology then work with the creator to help expand the market for what there device can offer.

A few examples of technology that we see great value in using over the next evolution of our industry.

1-A system to eliminate any hardware on the backside of a drill-mount and it can be applied to any frame easily. It is a better mouse trap and it now has the chance to live on as part of LenSync while it may have never made out of R&D otherwise. This is a game-changer and I am a guy who does 70% drill work.
2-A system to build custom glasses for a patient using an iPad with an attachment; the frames made are 3D printed to fit you perfectly from bridge to uneven temple length. We can leverage this technology for other measurements and virtual try-ons.
3-Offering technology that actually blocks damaging blue light and is not the result of marketing going crazy with 20% of the real story. More to come later on that subject.
4-New clip-ons that can be built on any drilling edger in-house; now instead of just offering Chemistrie with magnets there will be a system for more traditional clips to offer a new product for all of us. This is an opportunity to just be able to offer what our customers may want and now we can offer it to them in an efficient process. No more sending the frame out for a custom clip if you don't want.
5-A line of sunglasses for the independent that are custom and offer us a luxury version of Maui and Costa that is not sold on-line or at a CostCo. They are designed for the RX business and the man behind the project is a true visionary; more to come soon.
6-Glass lenses will be offered to those who want them and there is technology that makes them it where the weight is not such an issue any longer.
7-Technology that will allow any picture of person wearing a frame the opportunity to get the correct seg ht and pd's; it works and it is a game changer that is patent pending. No more goofy things with dots and spots to add to the frame in-front of a 4 ft mirror.

It was a great show and we look forward to the future.

    Craig, Harry and Dave
