    Returning frames to Luxottica..

    Hello!

We just had a visit from out Luxottica rep, and placed an order for some new frames. He approved the return of about 10 frames and mentioned that they have to be sent back with the cases.

Is this new, or is it just not strictly enforced? We never used to send the frames back with the cases.

I don't mind parting with the cases, but since we have to pay the shipping to send everything back to Lux it would be nice if we could minimize the costs. Side note - why can't Lux reps just take the frames?? >:(

Anyways - does anyone know if they are particularly strict about this? I would prefer to send the frames back without the cases.

    Thanks!

Yes LUX is strict about returns, so send cases. We are a licensed operator Pearle Vision and they will give us grief if things aren't followed.

Do they have a returns centre on the West Coast or do you have to send your returns to the McDonough GA return centre?

Make sure to write your RA# on the box or they may not accept it.

Lux is very particular about returns. You must send the cases back, the Return Authorization must be written on the outside of the box or else it could be rejected & sent back to you. Also they only have one return center and that's in Georgia. They handle all returns and credits for all the Luxottica brands, now including Oakley after the assimilation & changes they made over the past few months

We'll be sending them to Mississaugua, actually (we're in Canada!) but good to know they are sticklers about the cases.

    Thanks!

Redhot Jumper Frames would cost a fraction if there would be .............

Frames would cost a fraction if there would be no return policy. You are paying already for two or three frames in order to buy one.

Before 1982 when the competition got fierce and some wholesalers started to load up optical stores with you pay only what you sold frames, and you had the right right to return whatever you did not want anymore, frames were sold at a reasonable markup.

This is why online opticals purchase in quantity and at rock bottom prices and can undersell everybody, and still make a profit.
