    Super Bowl Predictions

I know I may be going out on a limb here, but I predict that the winner of the Super Bowl.....will have a pirate as a mascot.......

    OK, so GO BUCS.............:D

    Eye Man,
I am voting for the Raiders, because they play football the old fashioned way-with blood, guts and heart!

    No offense to your Bucs!

    Bucs 31
    Raiders 13

Of course, should the Bucs prevail, my neighborhood will probably burn to the ground. The locals were putting off fireworks till well after midnight on Sunday after the Bucs earned a SuperBowl berth!

    No clear winner!

I think each team has a great chance.

Unlike last year when the Patriots did not have a chance!!

I could care less who wins! I'm leaning towards the Bucs but like to see one more for the old guys!

I'm with Mikey on this one!

We up here are not only freezing our patooties off......we are still basking in the glory of last years season! I'll be betting that this years game will be dull by comparison!

Give Oakland the edge with a Cali crowd.

I just noticed the official line makes the Bucs a 3.5 point dog! Anyone wishing to give ME the Bucs with the points has a bet!

Um... let's put a limit on this, shall we? Okay, I'll put $5 up to the first four OptiBoarders who want to give me Tampa and 3.5 points. Loser (or losers, if I win) pays up at VEE.

So far, I have Harry and JRS... do I have two additional takers?

PS- I think this might be the first time an illegal activity has occured on OptiBoard (previous charges of libel and slander amongst posters notwithstanding)...

Hmmm, $20 should get me at least 3 Long Islands in NYC... :D

    $20.00 wouldn't buy you......

Hey Pete, I don't want to rattle your cage but 20 bucks wouldn't buy you last weeks weather report in New York. Cigarettes went to 7 bucks a pack! Lord only knows what a long Island ice tea is going to cost you!:D

All I can say is that I live in San Diego and like most other locals, I HATE THE RAIDERS!!! There could not be a worse insult to any Charger fan than to have them playing here. Obviously, I am rooting for the Bucs but I would have regardless. They deserve to win. Somebody mentioned the fact that the Bucs lost to the Steelers; well the Raiders lost to the Chargers and we didn't even make it to the play-offs!

OK, I'll take two of you at $50.00. That's Bucs and 3 1/2.

(Yes, I can afford it...I don't work for Essilor, I have a real Job)

    Pete!

I'll make it 4 if that is OK

But will you be able live if you have to pay a sales rep.

Harry we can pool are money and get a cab ride back to the hotel

We should post total score guess just for fun!

    I say 64 points

    Plus

    Buc win coin toss
Raiders score first on the ground
    The halftime show will suck!
The Buc will score last but still lose
Opening kick off won't go past the 28 yard line
Patriots won't win again but I still think they have a chance!
The Chucky doll will be given to 2034 women for V-day in Fl.

We'll be rooting for the Raiders here.
I really would like to see a good, even game, no matter who wins.

Pete, not much courage of your conviction...

Interesting fact: both Johnson and Ganon were let go by the genius coach we had in MN. As was Fisher from Miami. Oh, Moon too was cut as too old. I'd LOVE to have a team comprised of ex-Vikes. We'd RULE!!!

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers

These are the four OptiBoarders who have graciously volunteered to give me $5 when the Bucs win the Superbowl on Sunday evening (or at least stay within 3.5 points)...

As for predictions, I've already said I think the game will be:
    [shadow]Tampa Bay - 31[/shadow]

    [shadow]Oakland - 13[/shadow]

    In addition
    • Oakland will score two field goals and a touchdown (but the TD won't come until the game is pretty much decided already).
    • Look for Penn State alumni Joe Jurevicius (#83) to make at least two key catches
    • The Raider's corners will be called for at least 4 holding penalties
    • Bucs will intercept at least two passes
    • Your halftime score will be 14-3, Tampa Bay

That's probably enough prognostication for now... Enjoy the game, everyone! Let me tell you, here in Tampa its been pandamonium all week long!

    [move]Go Bucs!!![/move]

Would like to see Tampa Bay win, but my head tells me Raiders will win big--34-10.

CNN today reported that an on-line survey showed that most people would like to see the game played in a cold climate, i.e. real men football. Lived in Tampa for a number of years and I am here to tell you that Sept games in that heat and humidity were every bit as harrowing as games I've attended in Buffalo and Boston in the dead of winter. Comments?

Leaving the betting for a bit.....

Did anyone see Weekend Today this morning? They had some Super Bowl commericals on. There were two good ones:

Willie Nelson for H&R Block (I think) making fun of his IRS debt.

But the best one was a Reebok commercial with a football player hired by a company to help with productivity. It was too funny. Every time he caught someone slacking or being dumb, he would tackle them! It was too great. I especially loved the guy playing solitaire on his PC at his cubicle. Gets up for a second and TACKLED! It will be a good one!

The SuperBowl should be played every year in late Jan/early Feb. in Lambeau Field....then we will see who is the best.:shiner:
