    Washington State Licensing

Hello, I'm currently have NY, NC, and GA licenses. I am considering one day moving west. Anyone on here licensed in WA? Do you have a phone number for the state board? Is there reciprocity for anyone who currently is licensed? If not, how difficult is the test? Any info would be wonderful. Thank you !

www.oaw.org this will put you in contact with the Opticianry Association. It's a comprehensive exam consisting of EG, C/L, and A & P.
I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it. Mark Twain

To sit for WA Dept of Health opticianry exams:
If you have 5-years of documented optical experience outside WA you qualify to sit for the WA exam. Written and practical exams in both Dispensing and Contact Lens fitting required... not too difficult if formally trained. Aids training also required.

I just sat last year. I was licensed in CT for years. They worked with me and I only had to take the written test. However, I'm a military wife, and there are laws that say if you are moving because of the military they will wave certain things IF you have passed similar tests. Connecticut uses the abo/ncle, Washington doesn't recognize either.

I studied my butt off because quite frankly, I would have been embarrassed if I didn't pass. I finished both tests in like 20 minutes. I found them super easy.
