Ok... if you have the Dr measure the Pd and include that in the Rx, what Pd do they give? I suppose they would have to have an in depth discussion about lens availabilities and lens functions. So they spend a longer time in exam room while the other patients wait. Isn't this what the optician should do? I'm the one who explains the lenses and spends the time going over everything with the patient so I'm the one who knows what measurements are needed. I have no problem if the patient takes the RX to another optician who then does the measurements. I may not like it, but at least someone is going over the information. (and is taking the responsibility) Lets say the Dr gives them PDs for FT lenses as discussed in the office and they decide to get progressives. Or lets say we give them the Rx for office lenses and they order something else. THAT's the problem I have with the Pd dilemma. The Pd and other measurements should be done by the person who is making the glasses. Just my thoughts.
