For those interested in protecting their eyes from visible blue, I recommend installing f.lux on your computer and setting your monitor to whatever seems comfortable in your particular environment.
Another thing I recommend is avoiding heavy blue screens, such as OptiBoard's default "skin". I find the Christmas and Arizona Sky skins to be the least blue and most readable. You can change this in Settings> My Settings>My Account>General Settings>Miscellaneous Options>Forum Skins
The Christmas one is a bit wierd for most of the year, but is actually very comfortable and low in blue.
Finally, I recommend to patients to turn down their monitor brightness to the lowest level that gives comfortably readable text, which will vary a lot from 20 or 30% if you work in the dark, to 80% in a very bright room, to 100% if you compute in direct sunlight.
