Hi all,
Are the "V" codes changing as well? The frame codes, the lens codes etc. I understand the dx codes, that's not what I'm referring to.
Thanks

ICD 10 is only affecting the diagnosis codes for outpatient services. V codes are with the procedures/services, so they will not change.

Because we're in the implementation phase of ICD our bookkeeper says that we should use only the Z01.00 or Z01.01 for all billing purposes. She says Medicare will bounce it back.
Has anyone experienced a denial of service for using the H52 codes?
I'd rather start the future so to speak now rather than later.
We haven't had any denials due to coding being wrong so far. (I am the insurance coordinator in our office)
Yes I am. I even file medical visits and haven't had any denials based on the codes (yet) lol
Im sure there will be some eventually, especially from Medicare.
Funny you should say that!
Medicare was the example she used as being denied because it was not coded Z01.00.
Medicare is notorious for always finding reasons to deny claims.
I need an ICD 10 code for a post cataract with no implant. It's for a PA for a Mass. medicaid patient and they require a diag. code so I can get aspheric lenticular lenses.
Anyone know what that is?
H27 for starters, the condition is called aphakia
