Hello All!
It's been a while since posting (I've been living in Vietnam for a while now, but coming home soon). One issue I've found being an optician in the US is the lack of publications and/or journals dedicated to ophthalmic optics. There are a few ophthalmic and optometric journals but they generally deal with pathology and are only available to doctors or members of ophthalmic academies. And getting legitimate white papers from companies is like pulling teeth and is usually is just a bloated advertisement. Of course I, like so many of us, have subscribed to our go-to opticianry related magazines but have found them severely lacking in pertinent information, overly commercial-driven, and simply "fluff" (as far as the science of our craft goes). Has anyone found a solution to this? I would love to be able to regularly read up on advances in the world of ophthalmic optics without the commercial bias or puff pieces on matters like how to up-sell AR. Help me out guys!
