We currently have an Anti-Reflective Manager (2nd Shift) career opportunity at Southern Optical in Norcross, GA (Atlanta area).
POSITION PURPOSE:
The AR Manager for this organization is responsible for leading the AR (Anti-Reflective) department within a lab currently produces approximately 1050 jobs per day employing approximately 51 employees.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the AR resources activities including: process measurements, process improvements, employee training, develop capability and reliability of optical lens manufacturing process and equipment, independent process assessments, and calibration of measuring equipment.
Interact with production personnel at all levels to develop process improvement plans, analyze and provide historical data, etc. Document nonconformance and facilitate a timely disposition of the nonconformance.
To maximize efficiencies through process control and maintenance programs and working with Essilor Technical Group to drive leaner processes within the Essilor Standards
Conduct troubleshooting, diagnosis, calibration and/or repair of electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment problems.
Provides leadership and project management on process improvement efforts through breakage analysis, lab error returns, process troubleshooting, SPC, trends analysis, and performing root cause analysis.
Provides leadership and work direction to AR Department.
Ensures that effective training is developed and utilized within the AR & Surfacing Department.
Perform and participate on duties and projects as requested by reporting manager on as needed basis.
Responsible for following safe work practices including process, equipment and compliance as well as reporting safety concerns to management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with AR technology is required.
Ability to troubleshoot electronic and mechanical equipment issues.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Strong aptitude with computers skills particularly in Excel, access and LMS systems as well as MS office.
Strong technical training background.
Must have ability to travel up to 10%.
Must be a proven self-starter and be able to work without direct supervision.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills.
