Looking for Hardinge Lensmaster lathe tech info

    Hello all,
I recently came into possession of a Hardinge Lensmaster lathe, equipped for production of custom hard plastic contact lenses (among other things). I'm finding it challenging to locate detailed technical information on the use of this pretty complex instrument and thought there might be such resources among the membership of this forum. Please let me know if might know of such material. Thanks. C. Hale, Lafayette CO

Dick, thanks for that link; I have in fact bought one of those off of eBay, and it surely will be useful I expect. Though, still pretty lean/generic on detail and so I'm continuing to troll around for what I envision is a "phone book sized" manual on actually making lenses with the thing : ) Totally don't know if such documentation ever existed, though. You can view one of these very machines on eBay currently; "Hardinge Lensmaster", $6950 offer I believe it is currently. This machine is a twin to mine, both originating (well, at least with respect to 2014-2015) from a defunct contact lens company in Rochester NY. No luck so far tracking anyone down on that end unfortunately. Charley

Well, you might get in touch with a college of mechanical engineering in your area. Go here
: http://educatingengineers.com/states...al-engineering. Usually most engineering schools, particularly state universities, are willing to help with matters of this nature, frequently assigning a grad student to help you out. Best wishes.
