Freeform designers other that IOT and other questions

We recently buy a Freeform lab. We are using IOT designs. I know that lens manufactures like Essilor, Rodenstock, etc sell freeform design.
But there must be companies that do not manufacture lenses but sell designs as IOT do.
The point is. Now i am supposed to be able to produce a broader variety of lenses and would like to be informed of options.

    I have a few questions.
Do most of the freeform designs are compensated as most IOT are?
Are those compensations so important on low prescriptions (from +2.00 to -2.00)?

Craig. Thanks for answering. I am not complaining about OIT lenses. Just want to explore other options. On regular lenses I have on stock semifinished progressive from different manufactures. This selection was made by trying different sample lenses.

On freeform I am suppose to have more freedom. At least freedom to know and try.

All other manufacturers who sell "generic" free-form lenses only sell lenses that are at least 2 generations old (avg of 8 years), or deliberately gimp their LDS calculations. They don't want a house brand lens to ever equal their top of the line products, they will ensure you notice a difference.

IOT on the other hand only offers "house brand" lenses, so they put their best knowledge into those products.

Having tried many house brand designs I can first hand say that IOT is the best, by far.

The downside to housebrand lenses is that they only come in three shapes, its doesn't matter the manufacturer. A distance emphasized T shape and a Reading Emphasised hour-glass shape, or a balanced hourglass shape. They don't have any of the advanced corridor options found in the Seiko Surmount, Seiko Superior, Zeiss Individual or the Auto III, nor do the offer any of the stepped corridors found in the Shamir InTouch or Seiko Supernal.

The best IOT lenses will match or exceed many of the premium T and hourglass lenses out there, however.

If you have IOT there is really no advantage with anyone else, unless you want to do really high powers or round seg backside bifocals, for those look to Thin-Tech lenses.
