I have them, you have them. What do you do to break the curse of multiple redos?

The Dark Lord is not one to be trifled with, his thirst for aggravation is unquenchable, his purpose in our industry is to move from one optical to the next; leaving behind handfuls of hair pulled out by the frustrated. He goes by many names mostly @##%!! and $@##!&. I know of several people who have tried candles and chicken bones but the Dark One is impervious to such things. I myself have tried the controversial Catholic Method (not to be confused with the Bates Method), the old priest and the young priest, didn't work. The best thing to do is avoid eye contact, give him a full refund after the second redo and politely tell him not to let the door hit him where the devil... you know.
I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it. Mark Twain
It all depends on the reason (the real reason) for the redo. Did the lab screw the pooch or did you screw the pooch? Is the customer a wing nut?
I think most redo's are caused by a lack of skill by the salesman or a mental condition of the customer.
The secret is to stop repeating the same scenario time after time after time.
First time through: too thin, cracked in the air hardener.
Second time through: edged the right lens as a left lens.
Third time through: cracked in the air hardener because the wrong time/temp was set.
On the fourth right now, I'm sitting on it until tomorrow, because I will pitch the #&$(#*$#^(*&#)#)(@&^@^@^ through the wall if it gets messed up again.
Of course, it's the lenses that are $xx per pair. It's never the ones that are $0.xx per pair.
Drink.
I usually take a deep breath and say a prayer... lots of prayers.
Made it through. Waiting for tomorrow for insertion and final inspection.
Going to go and drink lots of beer tonight.
Never mark the job as a rush. That is a sure path to breakages and remakes.
Hmmm . . . Beer . . . Perhaps that's the problem. How many beers do you drink at night? How about at lunch time? Do you have a bottle of vodka in the bottom drawer for an occasional pick-me-up during those long work days. Maybe it's the meds . . . too many or too few.
Maybe you all need to get yourself to AA.
LOL The problem is not enough beer!
When I was younger, one of the labs I used to stop by had an old soda bottle machine that dispensed only beer. There are days...

How mighty you must think yourself that Satan would cast his eye on you. Nay friend, he sends his minions to do his work and sharpens his knives for finer feasts. Gremlins are your problem I say. Dont feed them after midnight, dont get them wet, leave presents and offerings to them and all may go well. They are mischievous and none know what drives thier madness or how to stop it. I recommend letting someone else do the job. Perhaps your hand has a grip to tight and rested eyes may prove wiser. Were waging battle with an army of them over a job, it's been 5 weeks now...... hey......wait a minuit!
The snow ball effect of a redo is quite astounding. It's amazing when a job that comes in off power can then get remade 2 to 3 more times for the craziest reasons.
That's why everyday before work I have a priest come and bless the office.

That's a sure sign of stale swarf in your hoodoo bag. Swing a couple chickens over your head and sprinkle some holy water on the generators until the fresh swarf regenerates the bag. You were very close to having the whole operation swallowed by a sink hole and then consumed by a dark matter generated interdimensional time vortex. And we all know how hard it is to get up out of bed the next morning after going through one of those ******s!

I want to comment in this thread but I'm worried that if you speak his name... I already had a visit this week once.
I don't think Mike is over his head, more that sometimes these jobs are just jinxed somehow. It was a full moon yesterday, so maybe let it cool off for another day.
