Not bothered about payment - can give lectures in

How to prescribe and dispense tints and filters - including tolerances, a large number of clinical effects of tints and filters, how to prescribe to the non verbal child, metamers - from basic to expert level
Vision in autism - how it is very different to standard patients - including how to improve timing, mapping, cognition, agnosias
Synesthesia in practice - visual clinical effects and how to recognise and manage them.

I would be bring videos, instrumentation and happy to demonstrate some extreme effects

It would be nice to have friendly faces

On a whim I called BPI (1-800-327-2250) and spoke to Manny Moore and he's forwarding me some literature on products and kits that BPI has and may dovetail with Mr Jordans' work. He said to feel free to contact them if you want to see what they have to offer as far as tints and vision programs run from a computer that patients can take. Second link relates to Autism. Any comments from Mr Jordan welcome!

There are many ways to get optimum tint/filter - all are valid to some extent. But to assess an individual requires specialist knowledge (which is the most important part of the equation as it includes the knowledge of the inadequacies of assessment techniques and limitations of instrumentation), ability to understand the effects of tints (there are a large number of physical effects that can be measured, many more are cognitive or able to be assessed by observation), the benefits and potential provocation effects, the basis for assessment and what can go wrong. All work dovetails - it has to or it cannot be valid. What is needed is an international standard - this will be extremely difficult to achieve - but it is possible. Then valid comparisons can be made, the standards can be improved and the public will get a much better service. It will also be better for the optical professions and it is a challenge that needs to be met.
