Purple mirror coat--where can I order?

I've used NACL for all my mirror coats in the past, but they don't have a purple one. My customer brought in a plano sunglass and wants polarized progressives with a mirror that's close in color to what is on the plano lenses. I don't want to pass up on a profitable sale! Does anyone know where I could get a pinkish-purple mirror?

Just called Luzerne and the woman I spoke to said she'd never heard of such a thing! Can you get me a sample? My account number is 00-4011.
    Thanks!

I just called CS and left a message for Phyllis. If it's in the price book, it should be available. If not available, I'll get a call back. We have a couple of new CS reps who are not quite up to date on the less common requests yet. No excuses, just a reality.

We use the Puma Purple for golf glasses to increase contrast; the coating was actually done by Pech for me on the Jack Nicklaus glasses we did for him.
We love the color and they also have a Black mirror that is my personal favorite to wear over everything here in Florida.

Nike years ago used to make lenses in a purple shade for golf purposes in their frames. Not sure if they still make that option for them.

When LC used to use NACL for mirror coatings, the associates used to always order a black mirror on a polarized brown lens. Always looked really nice when it was finished

Thanks everyone! I'm calling Pesh right now.

Judy, did you ever hear back from your lab?

Turns out Pech does only flash mirrors; for full mirror they send it to Opticote. I've ordered samples of the only three mirrors that can be remotely described as "purple." Wish me luck--this customer is very picky!

The puma purple they sent me was a perfect purple color so I'm not sure you would find a better one.

Well, the three beautiful purple samples that I got from Opticote didn't wow the customer. So I'm back looking for more purple samples. Golfnut and Craig, where do you get "puma purple" coatings? I tried googling and all I got were the Puma sunglasses from Charmant.

I'm sitting on a very expensive pair of high index polarized progressives that I can't get paid for until they have the perfect purple mirrors on them--HELP!!

Damnation! Puma purple is from Pech and is a flash mirror. My customer wants the boldest purple she can get. The samples from Opticote weren't enough of a "dark purple" which is what the customer wants.

Any other suggestions? I've checked all the ones listed in Barry's post of 2010 http://www.optiboard.com/forums/show...=violet+mirror

Opticote is the company that makes this Vibrant purple mirror. It's really nice but it changes colors from purple to green depending on the angle of light hitting it, it is in a series of tints from opticote that are referred to as pastels. Most labs that I've used have an account with opticote and can get it. They also have a solid purple mirror called Morado, it is in their "miami" collection. They have a lot of great coatings. You can view samples at http://www.opticote.com or get them from a lab. I don't know any local labs for DC but Walman, Digital Eye Lab, or most Essilor labs should be able to get them for you. They do take a couple of weeks usually so just let your patient know, but I promise they will look AWESOME.

Thanks opticurtis, but it was the ones from Opticote that she rejected. I thought they were perfect, but the customer didn't.

Get your client a backpack and a walking stick. Time to take a hike.

The Vibrant purple... can barely be called purple lol, if that's the one you got then I would understand her not liking it. Here is a picture of the Morado, it's very purple. See if she likes it in this picture and go from there

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the brown base is a darker purple color. Brown base, as you look out thru the lens.

I have also been having this issue - your Murado sample looks nothing like the opticote printed sample sheet. It looks way better - thanks for posting!
