Just wandering what everybody's take is on the Hoya Wide progressives. How do they compare to the Comforts and Panamics?

It's a great lens. We've had wonderful success with it. I'm a previous Comfort, then Panamic wearer, but now I'm a Hoya GP Wide wearer and their great. Mine also have A/R and I feel like I'm not even wearing lenses. I highly recommend them. I am not associated with Hoya in any way, just really like the lens. My lab of choice for these is Progressive Lens Lab in Largo,FL, they do a wonderful job with it.

I give all quality manufacturers a fair shake and did not see hoya's products to be superior or even equal to the Zeiss and Essilor products that i continue to use.
I'm always looking for a better way to service my patients but hoya cant compete.
Eyeguy, just wondering what is was aabout the lens that made you feel it can't compete?? In case you are not aware, I work for a lab owned by Hoya Labs of America. I always like to know why people like or dislike ANY product I carry and your feedback would be immensely helpful to me.
thanks!
I recieved my Hoya a couple of weeks ago & like it alot. Its probably the cleanest lens I own right now & I have Percepta, SolaMax, Freedom Thin & Darks & Comforts by the bunches. I've been impressed!
I don't work for the company either. I would like to see the lens available without the AR since alot of my high end customers are musicians that prefer club tints. I've got them in Comforts just because I can tint them before the AR. Something to think about.
I hope you're all having fun and making money!
Framebender
Framebender, only the 1.71 is required to come with AR. You should be able to get the 1.50, 1.55 sungray 4, and the 1.60 without AR. If you find that is not true, let me know so I can pass that on to the "appropriate authority" :)
We have a marvelous industry, with access to highly technical products and services that we sometimes don't quite appreciate. I am and will continue to be dedicated to Varilux design lenses, mainly because they work, most of our current clients are wearing either comforts or panamics, in a wide variety of lens materials, including the new airwear quantum transitions (to be out on 11/6). most of our sunwear pts wear polarized comforts, we have fit Zeiss, Rodenstock, AO, Sola, etc, we're just really comfortable fitting Varilux's, our pts love them, so why run the risk of recommending anything else, when they're very happy with what they got? It took a long time to build that trust and confidence, in us and the lenses. I am sure that the Hoya is a good lens. It's the areas of crossover use that might bother pts, like doing their sun lenses in a comfort and their regular lenses in a hoya? Are their any cost differences? are their any fabrication time differences? etc.?
