Hi everyone, I just want to share a new eyeglass accessory I created. They are an alternative to the eyeglass chain and have been selling well in my store. Let me know what you think

Very nice!
Cool! Did you make these yourself? You could offer matching cleaning cloths or eyewear cases, or neckties!
Thank you! I did make them myself. I had a patient ask me if I could make a skull eyeglass chain and I came up with the printed elastic eyeglass strap. So far they are doing great, especially the wine print.
These are very cute! How long are they? How stretchy are they? And the big question: how much do they go for? You can PM me.

If you suffer from severe nonlinear waterfowl issues, you don't have your ducks in a row.
They retail for $8 and are 26" long
They look nice but how about some pictures of them in use?
Nice!
I'd double the retail cost. You can always come down.
I assume they're washable.
I am also working on solid colors as well.
Sure. It's a retail item and you should sell it for what the market will bear. Which you don't know until some one says they're too expensive in which case I'd say how much are they worth to you? It's not uncommon to charge $20 for new nose pads in malls.
Meanwhile they're a unique item. Why not try it?
Love your stuff! Really cool. I'll ask my mom :)
I am meeting with a patent lawyer this week regarding them
Right on Uncle Fester!!!! Colleen26, your gonna need to raise that price, just to afford the lawyer
Beware you don't throw good money after bad!
My cousin went through the patent process for a couple of hockey related items only to have a corporate big boy step in after a lot of work and expense and offer to buy the patents for about what he paid to obtain them. They basically told him they'd make something just dissimilar enough to not infringe but their scale and marketing would smother him.
He sold to them and vowed never to attempt to do it again.
His costs were in excess of $10,000!!!
I've been through the process of getting a patent (http://www.google.com/patents/US6612697 ). It took two and a half years, and ran about $12K. Protection lasts 20 years, and you have to pay additional fees (about $4K) every 6 years or so to keep the patent active. You also have to be prepared to protect your patent by filing lawsuits against every company/person who tries to infringe. Unless you have very deep pockets, I would not recommend getting a patent for this item...there may already be existing patents, or may not enough of a variation on "open source" products to entitle you to patent protection.
You probably didn't want to hear that, but I've always believed in being well-informed about this kind of information.
Thanks Mike. Since I have not had the meeting yet I was unaware. Wow that's pricey! I guess that means I have no protection, right?
You can copyright the design, that's simple and you can do it yourself.
