    Shadows on cell key pad...

    Here goes:

All Auto 2 fixed 15mm poly default panto- vertex- wrap
    Old rx 2011
    R -3.01 -1.57 x 176 .02@15
    L -3.49 -1.36 x 172 .13@177
    add ou +2.42

    New rx 2015
    R -3.05 -1.88 x 176 .01@36
    L -3.02 -1.13 x 178 .07@173
    add R +2.23 L +2.21

    Suns 2012
    R -3.04 -1.36 x 170 .02@177
    L -3.54 -0.87 x 4 .04@178
    add ou +2.21

Same frame and shape for 2011 and 2015 rx's Silhouette oval drilled rimless 49-17 BC's clock without an appreciable difference.
Poly polar suns are fine as well.

When patient looks at cell phone the key pad letters have a distinct shadow letter to the right, only with the 2015 rx. Each eye sees it, more so with the left.
Am I correct that the cyl change is the cause? She has tried them for over 2 weeks. Tried multiple panto wrap adjustments. Will it resolve with time or as I suspect the rx has to change?

    Original 2011 rx
    R -3.00 -1.75 x 175 +2.50
    L -3.50 -1.50 x 175 +2.50

    2015
    R -3.00 -2.00 x 175 +2.25
    L -3.00 -1.25 x 180 +2.25

Double check power cut OS and the add power cut. Check that the datum line is level, and that the inset is 'in' and not 'out' (yes I've seen it, and the reference marks were correct!)

Complicating/contributing factors might be cortical cataracts, worse in the left eye.

It's good to know when they're wearing short corridors. I like to see how well the fitting cross was positioned- almost always 2mm to 3mm low on average, but reasonably well positioned on the horizontal meridian, coming from mostly from private offices.

I did. The only thing that's changed is the rx.

This is not happening with her wrap frame suns either.

Changed left lens only to old rx.

    Problem solved patient happy!

Now can one of the "masters" (hello Robert M or Make Optics!) again remind me why this happens?

    **** HAPPENS
    in various professions
    ------------------------
Mathematician: **** happening is just a special case...
Statistician: There is an 83.7% chance that **** will happen. Maybe.
    Physicist (Theoretical): **** SHOULD happen.
Physicist (Experimental): To within experimental error, **** DID happen.
Engineer: I hope this **** holds together.
Chemist: I hope this **** doesn't blow up.
Gee, what'll happen if I mix this and ... ****!!!!
    Damn this **** smells...
    Biologist: Is this **** alive?
Botanist: What this daisy needs is some fresh ****.
Economist: I hope no one figures out that I don't really understand this ****.
    CEO: (1980's) I've got all the **** I want.
    (1990's) Oooh, ****!
Lawyer: For a sufficient fee, I can get you out of ANY ****.
Doctor: Take two ****s and call me in the morning.
Yes, it's definitely a case of **** happening. $90, please...
Acupuncturist: Hold still or it will hurt like ****.
    Let all that **** go.
This will really get the energy **** moving.
Surgeon: ****, where's this organ supposed to go?

    U.F.,

What's really frustrating is how hard it is to spot this type of error. Even if you trial frame and the client says the distance is soft, what can we do? Is it due to accommodative spasm (rare), unilateral cataract, sloppy prescribing/typo etc. We can rule out as much as we can, usually consulting with the prescriber, and hope that **** doesn't happen.

    Thanks again(!) Robert.

What made this so frustrating was with the exception of the rx change everything was the same. An outside rx so the redo's were especially salty crunchy good:(
