    Question Lens issue

    Hello,

I've decided to get a new pair of glasses. Waited 2 weeks to get them from the lab and upon receiving them, I noticed a possible issue with the left lens. With close inspection I notice some distortion in the center of the lens mimicking what looks to be a defect in the lens(think of an unevenness to the flow of the plastic - a small ripple). Has anyone else experienced this issue and is it common?

While I appreciate your sarcasm, I have fully read the "Forum Rules". Nonetheless, thank you for the reply.

All you need to do is let us know how you are connected to the optical industry.

It's common when they're purchased from China for as little as $9.95.

First, thank you for your replies. While my profession doesn't directly correlate with lens optics or the manufacturing process of such lenses, I devote my time to counseling patients on ophthalmic products and how to better their eye health. Primarily elderly patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, etc. It's interesting that I have been following this board on and off for years without registering and the moment I have a question that is out of my scope of practice and decide to ask "professionals", I get sarcasm from long time members. While my doctorate isn't in "optics", your patients and my patients are the same.
